Sponsor A Child

When some hear that we are a private school, they think that our students come from the wealthier families of the area, but that is not the case at El Puente.  Our desire is that the local children of Quepos have the chance to receive a quality education, independent of their parents' economical status.  Approximately three-fourths of our current students receive scholarship aid.

Below are the personal stories of a few of our students.

Your donations make their education possible.

Meet Vielka and Alisson
Vielka Fonseca Prado, age 6

Alisson Fonseca Prado, age 8
Sisters Vielka and Alisson enrolled in El Puente in 2009.  Vielka is now in first grade and Alisson is in third grade.  Their parents are divorced and their father leaves the financial burden of their schooling on their single mother who works on a waitress.  Their mother is delighted that her children are learning English and have dreams to go to college now, but struggles to come up with the money to keep them in school.  Your donation can help relieve her financial stress and ensure that Vielka and Alisson continue at El Puente.

Emily BriceƱo Corrales, age 8
Meet Emily
Emily has been at El Puente since the beginning in 2008.  We are so appreciative of her parents' faith in the school, even in our small beginnings.  Due to flooding this year, Emily's parents lost both their house and the rental property that they used to cover Emily's school fees.  Her family is feeling the financial strain and are appreciative of your donations to help keep Emily at El Puente.
